The national Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) was endorsed by COAG in July 2009 as part of the Early Childhood Reform Agenda. The framework forms part of the National Quality Standards Framework.
The EYLF focuses on the learning and development of children aged from birth to school entry (usually five years of age) and their transition from early childhood services to school.
From the beginning of 2010 the EYLF is the official early childhood curriculum framework for South Australia.
Copies of the EYLF can be downloaded from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR)
An Educators' Guide to the Early Years Learning Framework has been developed to support implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework. Hard copies of the Educators' Guide, along with a CD of resources, will be mailed to early childhood services in early 2011.
