Teaching - Authority to Teach letter

A DECDjobs - Employable Teacher Register (ETR) acknowledgement, Authority to Teach letter will be emailed to applicants who have submitted their online application and have met the minimum teaching requirements for employment with DECD.

Sites can view Authority to Teach letters through the Vacancy Selection Placement System (VSP).

An Authority to Teach letter is valid only where dates of all licences and certificates are current and minimum requirements have been met. The letter will indicate AUTHORITY TO TEACH - APPROVED (Year).

When any of the licences or certificates have expired, the Authority to Teach is NOT APPROVED.  An applicant cannot be employed or paid until all minimum requirements have been met and licences and certificates are current.

When an application for employment with DECD has been amended or updated a new Authority to Teach letter will be emailed, showing changes to certificate dates and an applicant's current status.

Teaching / Ancillary employment in DECD 2015

If you are seeking employment with DECD in 2015, as either a teacher or in an ancillary role, the  2015 ETR / EAR application is required to be loaded by Friday October 31, 2014 to ensure you receive your ‘Authority to Teach'/ ‘Authority to Work' letter before the beginning of the 2015 school year.

It cannot be guaranteed that applications submitted after this date will be processed in readiness for the start of the 2015 school year.

Ancillary - Authority to Work letter

A DECDjobs - Employable Ancillary Register (EAR) acknowledgement, Authority to Work letter will be emailed to applicants who have submitted their online application and have met the minimum Ancillary requirements for employment with DECD.

DELAYS IN BEING CLEARED FOR EMPLOYMENT

The time required for processing of registrations for employment which require follow up will vary and it is dependent upon the nature and complexity of the issue(s).

Other reasons for delays may be due to system and site needs.
