Central Office Structure

The aim of the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) is to achieve quality learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and students in childcare services, preschools and government schools. This site describes the way in which central office has been organised to reflect its core business.

Central office has the major responsibility for interactions between DECD and:

The people in corporate office are responsible for leading and developing the system’s policy, designing programs and allocating resources.  Corporate office also provides services to sites and regions for those functions which are more effectively undertaken at an aggregated level, such as recruitment, staffing, legal services and auditing, providing economies of scale.
