The Intervac program improves access and participation in OSHC and vacation care services for children with specific needs.
Intervac supports services to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
It also supports families of children with disabilities to enter or re–enter the workforce, and contributes to their wellbeing.
It helps them manage the competing demands of work, study and family.
Intervac funding is provided by the department to approved OSHC services and state-funded vacation care services.
Funding is provided when there is a need for additional educators to include children with additional needs or disabilities.
The Intervac funding presentation (PDF 91KB) summarises the Intervac program and highlights the key paperwork associated with requesting and acquitting funded hours.
For more detailed information and the administrative processes associated with applying for and acquitting the funding refer to the Intervac guidelines (PDF 276KB).
