School wraps up for the year

Friday, December 16, 2016

With school holidays starting next week, students and educators are asked to stay safe during the break and take time out to reflect on their achievements over the year.

Looking back on the 2016 school year there have been many highlights for South Australian education such as the state government’s investment into science, technology, engineering and mathematics through the $250m STEM Works, which was announced in the 2016-17 state budget.

Other milestones include the announcement of the new CBD School and the state’s first Chinese and French bilingual schools, and the implementation of more outdoor learning areas in early learning centres across the state.

The department is also urging the community to keep a look out for their local preschools and schools during the upcoming holiday period, to help protect the sites from damage, theft and vandalism.
