The state government will invest almost $13 million for new floor coverings, external painting and paving for 110 schools across South Australia.
This money will be used to replace aging paving, floor coverings and paintwork, and will directly improve the educational environments for more than 45,000 students. All projects are expected to be completed by 30 June 2018.
School pride is an essential part of building a successful school community and a strong sense of ownership for students and staff. The funding is a result of feedback from school communities, including principals, teachers and governing councils.
This latest funding follows the government’s decision to invest $15 million in solar panels and LED lighting for schools, as well as paying utility bills for South Australia’s 900 preschools, primary and high schools.
