The Australian State and territory education ministers have agreed to changes to the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Decisions were made following consultation with the sector as part of the broader review of the NQF.
Changes to the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations will be introduced to maintain quality outcomes for children and ensure quality education and care in Australia continues to improve under the NQF in the most efficient and effective way. These changes are outlined in a Decision Regulation Impact Statement (RIS).
Changes to the legislation will commence from 1 October 2017 and a revised National Quality Standard will be introduced on 1 February 2018.
More information and guidance will be released in the coming months to support the sector to understand and prepare for the changes.
