What could your school do with $50,000?

14 July 2016

Primary and secondary schools from across the state are invited to register their interest in receiving a $50,000 specialist schools grant.

Thirteen grants totalling $650,000 will be made available to schools to put towards new or existing specialist programs that will provide additional learning opportunities for students not generally available in all schools.

Primary and secondary schools who work together within a partnership to offer complementary specialisations will be highly regarded.

Previously, schools have received grants for specialties including STEM initiatives, music, Auslan development and climate change study.

In applying for the grants, schools must engage with their local communities to identify important focus areas and help choose their specialty.

Schools that have already received a grant in a previous round are ineligible to apply.

Registrations of interest are due from schools to education directors by 23 August 2016, and from education directors to the Learning Improvement division by 9 September 2016.

Interested schools can download the selection criteria and application form from the DECD intranet.
