High school zoning

A high school zone is a defined area from which the school accepts its core intake of students. Most government high schools in metropolitan Adelaide are zoned.

With some exceptions, a student’s zoned school is determined according to their primary place of residence.

Acceptance into a particular high school is subject to its capacity, and the respective principal will be able to advise if they have available spaces.

Shared zones

A small number of schools share areas from which they accept core enrolments.

Where school zones overlap, enrolment enquiries can be directed to either principal who will be able to advise if they have available spaces.
