STEM Works

STEM is science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (incorporating physics and chemistry).

STEM Works will provide 139 schools with modern facilities.

Contemporary facilities combined with cutting edge teaching and learning approaches will help prepare students for future jobs in a wide range of industries from health to defence.

STEM Learning strategy

The DECD STEM Learning strategy will transform public education to enable students at every level of schooling to develop knowledge, skills and understanding in STEM subjects and to apply that learning to shape their world.

The investment - STEM Works

From 2016, the department will invest $250 million over 3 years in our schools to refurbish and redevelop existing facilities as part of STEM Works.

Around 75,000 students across 139 schools will benefit from refurbish and redeveloped facilities delivered as part of STEM Works.
