STEM Works

STEM is science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (incorporating physics and chemistry).

STEM Works will provide 139 schools with modern facilities.

Contemporary facilities combined with cutting edge teaching and learning approaches will help prepare students for future jobs in a wide range of industries from health to defence.

What is STEM?

STEM is the name given to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (incorporating physics and chemistry). These subjects are often taught together recognising their interrelationship.

The investment – STEM Works

Over the next 3 years the department will invest $250 million in our schools to refurbish or to build new facilities as part of STEM Works. 

STEM Works schools

Around 75,000 students across 139 schools will benefit from the new and refurbished facilities delivered as part of STEM Works.
