A parent’s attitude, values and behaviours are the most important influence on a child’s early learning, development and educational outcomes. When you are positively engaged in your child’s education, they are more likely to do better and stay in school longer.
The 2016 Parents in Education Week was held with great success from 12-15 September 2016 as a collaborative cross sector statewide education approach to parent engagement.
A range of renowned international and national childhood and learning development experts provided practical tips and easy to use strategies for parents to support their child’s learning at every age and stage.
The 2016 Parents in Education Week was brought to you by the Department for Education and Child Development, in partnership with Catholic Education South Australia, the South Australian Independent Schools Association, and the Australian Early Development Census team in the South Australian Department of Education and Child Development.
Thank you to the 2016 Parents in Education Week steering group members for their advice and contribution as part of this cross sector event:

- The Federation of Catholic School Parent Communities
- South Australian Secondary Principals’ Association (SASPA)
