All department site leaders must only engage third party providers whose staff have completed the appropriate Responding to Abuse and Neglect – education care (RAN-EC) training.
Third party providers have broader responsibilities around staff, volunteers and child safe environments.
See the list of approved training organisations who offer RAN-EC training and the RAN-EC induction session for volunteers.
Approved third party providers
The RAN-EC training requirements might be different in some special circumstances for approved third party providers when providers are:
- on one of the approved panel of providers; and
- have staff who have completed a full day child safe environment training in the past three years.
You will need to DECD.CSW [at] sa.gov.au (contact us) to find out if this applies to you.
The requirements for RAN-EC training are as stated in your specific agreement, deed, or policy.
If you aren’t sure what training you have to do, you need to DECD.CSW [at] sa.gov.au (contact us).
