Screening tool

To work in DECD, you must have a current relevant history screening clearance.

Some volunteers in public schools, preschools and early childhood services also require screening.

The type of screening you need depends on your role and your interactions with children.

Use this screening guide to find out if you need a screening and what kind of screening you need.

The practical information for school and preschool leaders guide provides specific examples for site staff.

The screening guide was updated on 4 February 2016.
